Recycle and make something pretty at the same time! This project was easy and cheap as its mostly made out of recycled newspaper. I used the pieces of newspaper that were already folded and used a triangle template I cut out of thicker paper I had on hand. I cut out in spots in the articles because there were nothing but words in these spots. I then used letter stencils and painted letters of my choice on the banner triangles. I then punched 2 wholes in each triangle. One on each side for the ribbon. Then I stranded the ribbon through each whole on each triangle to bring the banner together. Make sure you have 6 extra inches of ribbon on each end of the banners. Tie a knot on each end then hang on your wall. I think one like this that says ‘Welcome’ on it put above your front door would be cute too.

I decided to update my office chair as its been starting to look rough. Overtime the fabric got warned down and my 3 year old son has spilled stuff on it as well. It was pretty easy and did not cost me anything as I used some coordinating fabrics my mother in law gave me. I unscrewed the back of the chair and the bottom. Then I put my fabric over the bottom of the chair and the back of the chair and cut around the bottom and left it long enough to wrap around the old fabric pads for the chair. I then stapled the fabric to the chair pads then screwed them back on to the plastic parts of the chair. I have noticed on the bottom of my chair the fabric pattern is a little off centered but Its still a big improvement from what it looked like before. So before you go to IKEA and buy a new overpriced office chair try updating your old one. =]

All you need is spray paint, a frame, glue gun, and some moss. I took an old ornate vintage frame and spray painted it white. Then once the paint was dry I took my glue gun and added some glue on the glass that I put back in after painting my frame. After adding my glue inside the frame on the glass I added moss on top of the glue. This project is really easy and makes for some really pretty decor.

This project was inspired by milk glass vases. You can do this project with recycled glass jars and bottles. I chose to do it with some recycled plastic dish detergent bottles. With 3D paint (puff paint) you can get the effect that looks like the designs that stand out on the milk glasses. Its a fun and easy project and you dont have to spend alot of money on materials.
All you need is:
Glass jars, glass bottles, or plastic recycled detergent bottles.
3D Paint (white)
White spray paint
Sand Paper (only needed if your using plastic detergent bottles)

1st step: I peeled off the stickers on the plastic detergent bottles then I took a peice of sandpaper to sand to smooth out the areas that had stickers on them then ran them under water and dried them off.
2nd step: I started using the 3D paint to make designs on the bottle and I held the top of it to turn the bottle to make designs all around the bottle. I made polka dots and different lines on my vases. After I added my designs on my bottles I let them dry overnight.

3rd step: I spray painted all the bottles white to look like milk glass vase.
I didnt have any flowers so I had to use sticks from my backyard to display in them for a quick picture , but I think they would be lovely with some flowers in them.
I have done various crafts before but I have never worked with moss before, then I saw this tuturial for making a moss covered letter monogram and its what inspired me to try to do something similar working with the moss.http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/07/31/diy-moss-covered-monograms
I decided to not just make a moss covered letter but to make a word. You can use cardboard or wood for this project. I chose to use white cardboard that only cost $1 at the Dollar Store. I payed only $1 as well for the bag of moss at the Dollar Store. You will also need glue sticks, glue gun, and scissors. I also bought a frame at the Dollar store as well for only $1 and covered it with moss as well and added one of my photography photos in there. You can do this and add any photo of your choice. It would make a great wedding or engagement gift. For the moss covered word I chose do draw out the word ‘LOVE’ on the white cardboard then I cut it out. After I cut out the word I chose then I added glue on it with my glue gun on one letter then I added moss to each letter. I am loving the results and am looking to do more projects in the near future with some more moss.
